




after the fall
for an actor, it's a strange and limbo-like experience, after the curtain falls. Wild energy is still coursing through your veins; it's almost like the character you've been playing hasn't quite left the room yet.
Kevin Barry and Olivia Smith were planning the first edition of their arts anthology, Winter Papers, and asked if I'd do a photo essay. Kevin suggested 'backstage' as a theme, so over a few months I shot with a group of actors who were performing in Dublin. we met at their dressing room after their shows had just come down. some were happy, some were contemplative, but all were still slightly not quite there.
Hopefully something of that weird, netherworld quality comes through here, before reality punches a hole again...
